MN Food Share Month

Renee Brod
Assistant Vice President

Last year during the MN FoodShare March campaign, the community of NP contributed more than 15,000 pounds of food to the Peace Center!  The more a food shelf raises in the month of March, the more they receive from a monetary incentive food fund from MN FoodShare, as well as being eligible to receive allocations from the Feinstein Corporation.
The past few years the State Bank of New Prague has volunteered to be a drop site for our local March FoodShare Campaign Organization.  An area has been set up in our bank lobby for customers, employees and visitors to drop off their food donations again this year.  I encourage everyone to bring in whatever you can to increase our giving to the Peace Center, New Prague's local food shelf.

Mortgage Scams On The Rise

Ann Slavik
Customer Service Representative

Recently the FDIC has posted alerts that unethical mortgage forclosure and loan modification scams are on the rise.  The alert included several warning signs that show you may be dealing with a mortgage foreclosure scam such as demanding a fee in advance; advising you to stop making mortgage payments; telling you to send your mortgage payment to anyone other than your loan service provider; instructing you to transfer ownership of your property; or asking you to sign a document that has blank lines or spaces.  There are many other ways these scammers operate.  The FDIC also gives information for lower income individuals needing free legal services along with a list of reputable non-profit housing or financial counselors to help you protect yourself if you are caught in a foreclosure or loan modification scam.  To check out all the details go to www.fdic.gov/foreclosureprevention or come in to the bank for a detailed brochure from the FDIC.

Welcome to the new State Bank of New Prague blog!

Bruce A. Wolf
President

We are excited to welcome you to our new State Bank blog. Our purpose is simple: To keep you better informed of the goings-on at the State Bank of New Prague and our community.

It has been a little over a year since we moved in our new bank facility. We are grateful for all of the positive comments from our customers and the community.   I have been asked many times how I like the new building. It’s great and it’s always fun to have something new. Customers are appreciating the new congestion free drive up ATM, the Community Room is used on a regular basis, our message sign is getting a workout from many community announcements and we recently needed to purchase additional safe deposit boxes. Before we moved we had a lot of safe deposit boxes. We purchased additional boxes when we moved but now have needed to add even more. We really have a lot of safe deposit boxes!

I hope you enjoy our new and improved website. For seasoned users, you’ll notice that our “log in” has been moved to our home page. We have improved navigation throughout our site and have added features like our community calendar. We welcome your requests to include your community event on our calendar.
